Water Is The Driving Force of Life
IISD Experimental Lakes Area (IISD- ELA) is the world’s most unique freshwater facility, located right here in Canada. Their mission is to preserve and protect our most valuable resource-water.
For over 50 years, 58 lakes in northwestern Ontario have been set aside for ground-breaking experiments to teach us about what human activities and pollutants are doing to our fresh water.
Proceeds from the Red River necklace support the research that is crucial to uncovering evidence-based methods to combat threats against our freshwater systems. IISD-ELA is a precious scientific asset that holds one of the longest continuous freshwater dataset in the world, and is truly a Canadian national treasure.
