Explore the Exchange
As the lovely, long summer hours stretch our days, people are increasingly out and about in our neighborhood, the historic Exchange District of Winnipeg, exploring the heritage buildings, unique shops and restaurants, First Fridays arts events, galleries and pop-ups.
Summer is a gentle time to explore your own jewelry collection to consider restoring or repurposing older pieces as new creations. Memento pieces, sentimental and heirloom jewelry can be reworked to preserve the memory and spirit of the original piece, recreated in a modern, inspired design.
A consultation appointment with Hilary Druxman will bring your vision to life through artistic design advice and master craftsmanship. No piece is too small to be reimagined to new life, and selection of complementary pieces maximizes style impact through layering and new combinations.
Explore the Exchange by walking to find outdoor patios, benches and gardens. Hilary’s team can point you to their favorite restaurants, including Shawarma Khan, Deer + Almond, Clementine, Peasant Cookery, Chosabi and Amsterdam Tea Room, to name a few!
Be a tourist in our own beautiful city. The Exchange District is a National Historic Site of Canada, comprising 20 city blocks and about 150 heritage buildings constructed between about 1880 to 1913 renowned for their early 20th century architectural styles and history.
The Exchange District is situated less than two kilometers from The Forks National Historic Site at the junction of the Red and Assiniboine Rivers. Access to both landmarks is easy through walking paths, bike lanes, buses and street parking.
There is a jewel waiting to be found in the Exchange District. Visit Hilary Druxman Design in the historic Merchant Building at 1-258 McDermot Avenue. For a consultation appointment, please call 204-947-1322.
